I have been putting off having a toatl knee replacement for the last year and have been putting it off... Over this time the pain has become extremely bad... Have tried nsaids, perscription nsaids, multiple cortisone injection and injections of orthovisc... Nothing is helping as the pain gets worse and worse. Had x-rays taken and have nothing but bone hitting bone at this time. Earliest I can have this surgery done will be this spring. My orthopedic surgeon has put me on norco to cut the pain until I can have the replacement done. Was putting me on norco a good idea for several months until I can have surgery? Just took my first norco tablet about 15 minutes ago so feel no results as of yet? Please let me know? Thank you! Happy holidays to all!
This 10mg Hydrocodone 325 acetamminophen (apap ) samé as LORTABS BUT LESS OF THE BS This is a short acting opian
The norco is ok as long as you are aware that your body will become dependent on it and can become addicted if you are the least bit prone to abuse. When it is time to come off this medication you will have to taper slowly to avoid withdrawals.
You might want to ask your doctor about some physical therapy too. I talked to my cousin yesterdaay & she is going thru the same process, but PT has helped her a lot to learn to build up different muscles. It has helped her considerably. so she is putting off knee repacement for a while at least. Worth checking into...
