If you look up on any search engine disability and fibromyalgia it will give you what SSD needs for you to qualify. They came up with ways for the ALJ to use the SS laws to decide fibromyalgia cases in July of 2012. SSR 12-2 I believe. Make sure you have the proper medical documentation and that your physicians back you up. You should have a PCP, a rheumatologist ( although the one I went to was useless), a Psychiatrist & a pain management physician. definitely get a lawyer after your 2x denial (on paper) keep appealing until you get a date for an ALJ hearing. Make sure you get a good lawyer. My disability date is 8/22/2005. I have had three ALJ hearings. 2 where appealed & sent back for third ALJ, that was denied and appealed, but the appeal was denied even though the ALJ definitely errored and then I had to find a federal lawyer so now still waiting to hear the decision from the federal courts, which they could actually send me back to yet another ALJ. I am 49 & the golden age is 50, so I may get it then. I have been through it. If you want to friend me I can send you some helpful links. How old are you & are you still working? Are you trying to get SSD or SSI? If you have worked a lot of years like I had before my disability date then SSD pays more, but is harder to get. Also where you live has a factor too, but most people might disagree I have definitely found it to be true because apparently where I live is way more difficult. I would love to hear from someone who has actually won their case, so if your out there please provide us some hope.
