have taking it many years with no side ,im 73 now
I've not heard this either. According to what I know, it is contraindicated in babies under 1 month old and contraindicated in patients with anuria, oliguria, or creatinine clearance less than 60ml/minute. Also it is contraindicated in pregnant patients at 38-42 weeks gestation. and during labor and delivery. The recommendation that older people not take it probably comes from the restriction related to creatinine clearance since this tends to get worse as we get older. If you have a normal clearance though, it shouldnt matter what age you are.
