Can anyone say that it did help them with good reviews only and how long? I think I am still suffering side effects.Thank you.
You can give it another couple or weeks or go back to your doctor to see what other options you have. Sometimes it may not be the med for you.
If you are looking for reviews you can find them by Googling, Fluoxetine Reviews.
Hope you find some answers soon.
Prozac takes about 3 weeks to reach a therapeutic blood level meaning it will take at least this long to begin feeling positive response to this drug with effective relief of depression. Either the dose needs to be increased or this drug isn't the one for you. Make an appointment with your provider asap. Another class of antidepressants may be more effective. Sometimes one can try several different medications before finding the most effective for you.
Usually the dr will increase your dose after a couple weeks on the 20, maybe a higher dose will make you feel better it's different for everyone . Personally fluoxetine didn't help my depression, I was on it for a while and I changed because it never really made me feel better.
Hi Sandy, at nine weeks, I assume they have increased you from the starting dose of 20mg per day up to 40mg? I only ask as if 20mg has not proved itself to be effective yet, have they suggested increasing your dose from your starting dose? When I took it years ago it definitely took effect in two weeks.
I wish you the best of luck.
Hi, I started off taking 20mg of fluoxetine and now I am up to 60mg a day. Which is 3x 20mg a day since they don't make a 60mg capsule. I have been on this for about 9 years and when I miss a dose I can definately tell. I also started taking it with Abilify. It took a little while for the side effects to go away. But it has changed my life for the better. Hope it works for you..
