I'm happy to report that I am completly opiote free stayed on the thomas recipe for the most part I still have low energy and I have TmJ so I am in a lot of pain but I am clean and that's all that matter wish I could say its going as well for my husband he started Friday and things went horribly wrong he flipped out so he is now with his dad hopefully still detoxing but going cold turkey thank you for all your support 1 week clean today!!
No, it won't mess up your timeline since it was such a small piece. I really recommend you consider starting the Suboxone or doing a taper off the Norco, but if you are certain you wish to stay the course I recommend the Thomas recipe for opiate withdrawal. You can google this and get the list of remedies for helping with opiate withdrawals symptoms. If you decide you want to taper off the Norco rather than cold turkey, would be happy to help with a taper plan.
Dear dx2mommy... congratulations on stopping the opiate cycle and welcome to the support group. U have made a huge and positive step in your life.
I agree with Laurie that u might want to consider staying on the suboxone for a while. If the small amount u took helped u to feel better... this is great. U could stay at this amount to let your body heal from the opiate use, to get rid of all those extra receptor sites and to let your brain heal and start learning how to start making its own endorphins again. I hope that the suboxone also got rid of cravings as this is the end point goal of suboxone treatment.in addition I highly recommend getting into addiction therapy and get hooked into a good AA group and start working the 12 step program.
Whatever u do will as far as staying from the opiates will be a big step n the right direction.
Come here often and let us know how u r doing and let the group help and support your efforts. There r many of us coming off of opiate addictions. Some of us use sub and some have weaned from the drugs while others have gone cold turkey.
We will help u.
Bless u dear. I will pray for your strength in achieving success off of this toxic addiction.
Be well and May God bless u and keep u.
hi dx2mommy - wondered how you were doing & if you decided to go the subox. route for awhile, as Laurie suggested? That's one option, but if you are not taking that route, I do suggest you decide whether you want to taper with subox or the opiates, but not alternate between both. That will only delay what we all must go through to get this out of our bodies. 40 mgs is high to jump right off the opiates, but if you take 1/2 subox every couple of days for a few weeks, then 1/4 every couple days for another few weeks, you can jump off from there. You will probably have some slight symptoms, but exercise, drink lots of water, hot showers/baths, keep moving and it will get better soon. I used some other meds to help when I previously detoxed, but they weren't opiates... a clonodine patch (for BP), a few benzos, which I don't really care for, but they helped with anxiety/sleep, and think I took a type of muscle relaxer for a week or two. Good luck & keep posting! Jillian
dx2mommy, welcome to the family, your at the best place and we are all here going thru or have gone thru opiate detox. well im on a very small taper off of percocet 10/325 mgs. from 162.5 mgs im happy to say im at 130mgs, ive had a bumpy ride, up and down,up and down and not able to past 130 mgs and end up going back up. well not this time, i didnt go back up, but im stuck at 130 cause im a freak when it comes to all the ibby jibbys from wds, which really isnt much, but of course, me the drama queen think im dying, well, I WILL get past this, and as hard as i think, i will cut back a 1/4 of pill off 1 of my 4 doses. hang in there, and keep comming back
