can I substitute "nicotinic acid" for Niaspan manufactured by Abbot? The dosage is 2000mg per night. Thanks, Jack
Is the nicotinic acid tablet, that you want to replace Niaspan with, an extended release tablet? If it isn't then you shouldn't substitute it for Niaspan, and discuss with your doctor. Because if it was your doctor's intention that you take 2000mg extended release tablet ... and you take a non-extended release tablet of that strength then it is not right.
