... flushed in a few hours and my face/checks swelled. Never had that happen before, what should I do?
If you had swelling in cheecks, etc. then I would say that you should check with your doctor before taking any more doses of Naispan.
Niaspan is notorious for flushing; try taking over the counter niacin instead.
Get the timed release, not the 'flush free' which can be dangerous.
Take 250mg in AM and 250mg in PM. I couldn't tolerate the Niaspan but this method works great. Add another 250mg in the afternoon if you can remember.
The optimum amt. is 900 mg/day. gz
