... get your period.. implanon put in, and 4 days later had unprotected sex, can I get pregnant even if I'm breastfeeding and not getting my period?
Yes you can get pregnant when breastfeeding. I'd introduce you to my friend who got pregnant with a set a twins while breastfeeding if I could. That was something that was practiced in the middle ages when they didn't have much else to help, and it seemed better then nothing.
It is NOT the bleeding that determines fertility, it is ovulation that makes you fertile. It is very possible to ovulate but not bleed! Talk to your OB-GYN about the best birth control option for you while breastfeeding. It is an old wives tale that breastfeeding prevents pregnancy. In our grandparents and great grandparents time they had few options for birth control and it was believed that if you kept breastfeeding you wouldnt get pregnant and poor women were keeping babies on the breast until they were 4 or 5 years old, or older! Unfortunately this doesnt work too well. The longer you breastfeed, the weaker this "protection" becomes and many women have gotten pregnant right after having another baby and while they were breastfeeding so it just plain doesnt work! Just because you are not menstruating doesnt mean that you are not fertile. I breastfed my oldest for two and a half, almost 3 years and I certainly had periods while breastfeeding!
