I'm 19 and also might have endometriosis. I have been on two different types of birth control pill, but I am looking for a better solution to my painful periods and also a good way to reduce the chance of getting pregnant. Im worried about constantly having spotting or having my cramps getting worse than they already are. Ive almost scared myself out of getting it due to some people saying their pain got worse after getting the insert? Any true advice?
I would highly recommend it! I been using it for almost 2 years and my experience with it has been great! I was very concerned with the irregular bleeding part of it but it get better after the first year, it's not really too much of a big deal as people make it seem I mean I can't complain about not having periods ( no periods = no cramps ) although I am a person who relies solely upon my period to determine whether I am pregnant or not I don't have to worry I mean the implant is more than 99% effective !
It's hard to say because it's different for everyone. I also suffer from really bad/painful periods and had been taking birth control pills for 14 years prior to getting Nexplanon inserted 2 years ago (I'm 30). While the first year was great because my period never came, the next year was awful. I just had it removed because my husband and I are ready to start a family finally, but after I have a baby I'm going back on the pill because this past year has been a nightmare!
