My doctor has recommended Nexplanon and does not want to prescribe me any more birth control pills due to possible complications such as clotting, breast cancer, etc. My cycle is almost non existent on my current pills. However, I was diagnosed with dysfunctional uterine bleeding when I tried to go off the pill about 8 years ago. I did not have a cycle for about 6 months, then when I did, it was very, very heavy. Clot like. I feel I am approaching menopause, but I am still concerned about an unwanted pregnancy. Would this product be a good idea for me? I am concerned about the side effects mentioned, especially the depression or mood changes. Any advice or experience shared would be greatly appreciated.
