Who decided in the insurance industry that the generic Nexium works! Where can i find this information. By the responses it does not work. Is there anyway to get this information to the insurance industry. If anyone has been caused undo serious pain from using the generic apposed to the original like myself. I would like to know who to contact so i can sue them for pain and suffering because if their decision. Not to mention the further damage that happens when you can not get your acid reflux under control. If anyone can provide this information. Thank you.
CM60; Won't happen they have a lot more money than us. And it shows as approved by the FDA your best bet is call your insurance company and ask if the doctor prescribes it as brand name necessary well they pay for it then must be a handwritten prescription by the doctor if they well if not see if the doctor well put through a prior authorization for brand name only and that you have tried the generic and it is doing nothing for you. And if they reject it you can appeal it and many times they well okay it then red tape they make it as hard as possible for us to get brand name medication. Wish you luck. Chuck1957 PS THIS also depends on where you are at different laws in different states, Or COUNTRIES. BEST OF LUCK.
I have tried literally almost every single medication OTC and prescription for GERD and heartburn/indigestion. I can tell you that prescription Prilosec (generic is Omeprazole) is the only one that has ever worked for me because I have it so severely. OTC Prilosec or store band works too but I have to double up the dose and it's a lot more expensive that way. With my insurance I pay $6 for a 90 day supply. The important part that makes it work is the magnesium. It does come in a form that doesn't have magnesium but it doesn't help for very long. The one with the magnesium works so well I only have to take it every 3-4 days, which is a miracle for me! Hope this helps!
