I have about 10 illnesses and conditions listed on my healthcare website let alone the diagnoses that haven't been posted by my providers because they won't affect my treatment plans. Anyway, I have so much to catch up on, I haven't been able to find out about hardly any of it. I don't really know how to properly use the patches. I really want to use them on the back of my neck along my spine as I have arthritic pain in every joint, literally, but I need to start using the lidoderm patches in certain areas and I want to start there. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Michael
New to pain meds and Lidoderm patches, any help?

I really meant how to cut them. Is there a good/bad way to do it. How do you put them on the neck? My wife can help but I still need to teach her how anyway. Is it better to use: multiple strips; one oversized patch for the area; a small one that may release enough meds so I can save some money; patterns that may work better?
I am pretty sure you can wear one for 12 hrs. If you are new, like you said to pain meds, they should work on you..u may use a few at a time on your areas of pain, but for 12 hrs..when taking them off, u wait and use again in 12 hrs. that's what it says on my box. hope u feel better lynnef
I have been using patches for two reasons. One i have had four fused disks and am hyper sensive around surgery site, i put the biggest i can on those areas 1 every 12 hrs and it numbes the area works great. I have a smll incision on my hip frrom a bone graft i cut it to cover the size of the incision and works fine. My other use which is cheating if u ever get a tattoo where a patch at the site of the tattoo, i use one every 12 hrs for one day prior before your tattoo then u hardly fell it. He he he.
