She is planning on reducing my very high dose of Cymbalta. I have severe MDD. Anyone have experience with Rexulti and could share? Would be appreciated. Tthx.
Hi, emarti! I've never taken Rexulti (brexpiprazole) simply due to the $$$/Medicare/insurance factor, but I've taken it's older cousin Abilify (aripiprazole) for several years and have been very satisfied with it. Very effective and no side effects ~ and Rexulti is supposed to be an improvement.
I suffered from MDD (treatment-resistant) for many, many years before adding Abilify as an adjunctive therapy to my other medications.
There are quite a few people here sharing advice and personal experience. Someone who takes Rexulti should be along soon.
Best wishes, WCV
Good morning emarti53.
I have been on Rexulti for 7 days. So far, so good. I am having some vivid dreams with this med. I am on 1mg because I am transitioning from 5mg of Abilify. It is supposed to be an improvement over Abilify. Starting dose is around 0.5 mg and the target dose is 2mg for MDD. I'm taking it as an adjunctive therapy to Cymbalta 60mg for MDD.
I will let you know after 2 weeks of use on how I'm doing.
By the way, how much of the Cymbalta do you take daily? Thanks.
I am taking Citalapram 40mg and .5 of the Rexulti and I haven't felt this good in a very long time!
My Dr' has been giving me samples and we are trying to figure out a way for me to continue on the Rexulti since it is so new my insurance won't cover it and it cost about $1000/month!
There is a serious drug interaction between these two medications. (I searched taking these together in case it would help me)
Please speak with your doctor.
