Go to New York Times to read this article:
"Addiction Diagnoses May Rise Under Guideline Changes"
What most disturbed me was the Pharmaceutical industry's input into the revision of the DMS which affects us all, which is the bible of Psychiatric diagnosis' , it is very very disturbing to have "business" interest interfere with purely medial/psychiatric standards. WOW
Well, in case no one has noticed, the Pharmaceutical, Hospital, Hospital Products and related unions and insurances are ALL BUSINESS, BIG BUSINESS. I fear the primary care function is profit and not the patient. After 7 years working for Abbot Labs I can tell you the cycle of Suppliers screwing the hospitals who screw the staff which screws the patients all of which screw the insurance agencies is insane, and it's all about money, and it's out of control.
