Tonya; Did the doctor tell you that you well have to taper down off the Lyrica prior to starting the Nortriptyline and yes it is in a different class of drug but they have used this for years to help people with chronic pain and IBS this would be a good one to try. Just know that as you start it that the Lyrica could give you some strange side effect. So don't blame them on the new medication. Or if you have enough you may try and taper down on the Lyrica prior to starting the new one. And if you have any problems check with the doctor for directions on how to stop the Lyrica. Did you look up Lyrica up on the top of the page type into the search bar the Lyrica many times the company well help pay all of the cost depending on your income, Or at least a good part of it if it is working well then you may not have to change? Give it a try.
