This is a very condensed version of the research I did from multiple sources.
First, observation tells us that 86% of patients with dry eyes demonstrate signs of MGD, per a Dr. Kwan, O.D..
In a well-conducted study, Lifitegrast 5.0% ophthalmic solution demonstrated a superior reduction in the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease. It significantly improved inferior and total corneal staining scores from baseline, and markedly reduced both ocular discomfort and dryness.
May 14, 2015 - Lifitegrast was shown to be safe over a 1-year period.
One person with MGD mentions that he had a significant improvement in his condition after MGD probing.
I hope this is helpful to you.
