... plus o ne clipped aneurysm and one not touched. I have suffered for 8 years with no relief. I have been on numerous different meds , no help. If there is anyone with an idea I would love to hear it. thank you
Hi crystal b,
So sorry you are suffering so much with your migraines and H.A. Are you saying that the daily H.A. is a new symptom? Since you've had 2 aneurysms, you might want to touch base with your doctor.
You asked for ideas. One of our members ukliz, went to the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago. She was very happy with the results. Perhaps you can "friend" her and she can share her experiences with you in a private question. She has been through alot to get control of her migraines.
I don't know what meds you have been on, but some pain meds can cause rebound headaches. So, pain meds could contribute to your H.A.
I hope this helps. I get migraines occasionally, and they are horrible. I can't imagine what you are going through. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing.
I have also had severe 24/7 migraines which are much better. When you say that you tried Botox, how many units did they give you? The first time it did nothing for me. But with an increase, then I was greatly helped. I'm now getting 275 units. And you did you try it at least 3 times? The repeated doses help.
Also you didn't mention nerve block and trigger point injections which have also helped me. I wasn't helped with any of the daily migraine preventative meds, but now with an off-label medication called Namenda, I have received significant help. You just take it at 25-50% of the amount that it is usually prescribed for Alzheimer's patients. Also I found some help from Petadolex, an herbal med. Also I have been helped with the milder migraines with an anti-inflammation gel which does not get into the body to cause rebound migraines.
Assume that you know that taking any pain reliever more than 2 days a week can risk the rebound migraines.
Don't understand--did you have just some migraines for 8 years, but now they are every day?
So let me know which of the above treatments you have tried. Migraines can be very disabling and the pain can cause other problems.
My friend had a car crash about 6 years ago. Her neck pain and headaches were pretty bad. So now they burned her nerves in her neck and it has helped her a lot. Can they do that for you too? The nerves they burn can grow back somewhere else in the neck and then she may need to do it again but then I guess it kills the nerve. Something to think about.
Hi Crystal I too had aneurysm clip mine was between both brain hempshires which was in 1994.I heard they were doing different method using stents through the groin. Was that an option for you?I'm not able to have MRI because of my clip. Can you have one? After 17 years of headaches 24/7 I now take botox.
