... here I feel so scared and alone with this condition - I have just started with a new therapist and taking lorazapam as needed. I thought I might find someone here to help reasure me I feel in a place darker then hell just now!
Hey there and welcome. You may feel alone, scared and like no one knows how you feel, and you'd be right (about the no one knowing how you feel part).
However you are NOT alone, and as far as hell is concerned I would encourage you to search yourself for some things you really love to do, and even if you can't do them right now, reach out for books, videos, posters any and all supportive paraphernalia that you can surround yourself with. Keep your conversations positive, I know that's hard when you feel this heaviness weighing you down, but YOU are in command of how you feel.
We don't realize it, but the "remote control" to our feelings is in OUR hands! It's just a matter of remembering where you last used it so you can find it and start changing the channels in your heart and your mind.
Anyway. Come back often, we're here for help and support, and you'll soon see there's an ocean full of support not only here, but all around you.
Chin up! The next moment is there for YOU to grasp and turn the course of your life. Right there in YOUR hands! Hope this helps. Hang in there.
Hi, everyone here is right, I know the feeling of thinking no one knows how you feel, your scrared, your mind might be going a million miles a minute,, I suffer from anxiety myself, I take Xanax when needed, it works great, i see a counselor that works with my doc, I like it that way instead of going to a therapist, you have to find a counsler or therapist that you are comfortable with, if you don't get good feelings or feel like there not understanding you, then find another one, I found that to be the most important first step, i wish you all the best and we always here to talk!! You are not alone
Welcome to a Great & Awesome, caring & loving community. You are Definately NOT Alone here... Almost all of us have been in the place you are at now. And Anytime you feel alone or scared sign onto this website no matter what time it is. There is Always someone on this site as like me alot of people are also insomniacs. I am sending you a friend request once you accept it we can send Private Questions where we can talk in private if you soul would like. I am a great listener & I have Definately been where you are at.
Also I assume that some of your therapist had taught you the breathing technique. Where you put your one hand on your stomach & take a very slow deep breath threw your NOSE until you cannot take anymore air in (your stomach will rise). Then Very SLOWLY blow out the air thru your MOUTH until you have no more air left to blow out. Then repeat this until you feel more relaxed. It takes awhile to get the hang of it but it Really works great at bringing your anxiety level down.
So please know you are definately Not alone as you will be amazed at how many people will be here for you.
Take care of yourself, Kathy
Dear Sukaren, first of all, you are never alone being here. There is always someone to talk with! We have all been in your shoes at some point in time. There isa great group of people willing to do just that. There is nothing wrong saying you're scared as we have all done it. Im living proof. I have anxiety and depression and Im not afraid to admit it. We all here are fighting our own demons. We all help each other out as well. Its important that you rrealize YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
In simple words, you are not alone. Many here battle depression and anxiety.
The first anxiety attack I ever had was, like all things of this sort, at the worst possible moment.
Glad to hear you have a therapist; always a very good step. Your psychiatrist will help you with the meds.
I promise you it will get a lot better.
Some of those here are better talkers than I am, but I am here. If you need privacy, friend me. If you like to talk in public, just post. We WILL support you.
Right here all the time,
Hi Sukaren1, when I say I completely understand your condition, I REALLY do. I had severe GAD and panic disorder about 8 years ago. I ended up in a hospital because I couldn't take it anymore and felt imprisoned by this ugly disorder! I couldn't leave my house, answer the phone, grocery shop, you know the drill. My life is completely different now, and yours will be too! Have faith and hope in your recovery, and stick with therapy! This doesn't have to be a life sentence, I promise! :0)
I am also new to this and I have has this going on barely for two months.
I felt like I was only person going through this I felt crazy but I am really glad I found this website and your post.
I am scared for what I am going through and not feeling alone really lifts alot off alot of weight of that monster (anxiety)
