When my feet get into 75 degree or higher weather, my feet burn really bad. Does anyone have any ideas on how to relieve this? Want to be able to enjoy summer with my grandchildren. I thought about taking cooler full of ice cubes with me to the lake. It may look kinda funny, but I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help me?
My neuropothy has not progressed as numbness, but makes my feet feel like they are on fire?

I am already on Gabapentin, 1800 per day. But it still does not allow me to go out in the sunshine. The ice water is a good idea, though. I will try it.
Well all I can say is my feet alternate. They are on fire, I mean BURNING. Nothing I do helps. Worse is the ice cold. I can NOT get them warm. I have to put a hot water bottle in the bed and then when they get cool, pull them out quick so they don't get burning like we have burn. But if I wear certain socks or shoes, it's the pain! I live with the buzzing, it's just a fact, accupuncture works but my insurance only gives 11.
I am seeing a neurologist and we are going to appeal it. Lyrica I can take at night but I get high and dizzy. And gabapentin doesn't work. I will never do narcotics. It buys you hours and an altered lifestyle. I am so sad I don't know what to do. But it helps knowing there are others out there like us.
I've had poly neuropathy for close to 10 years now. It started as pins and needles up to my knees. Now my feet are largely numb and hurt when I stand on them. They light up in what I call "ice fire" that can be unbearable at times. Several nights per month it is so bad that I get little sleep. This is in spite of taking Lyrica, Cymbalta, along with Tramadol and Voltaren for severe degenerative spinal arthritis. I am a very upbeat person at age 67 and just won't think much about how this may be my fate until I die. Good luck. Keep family and friends in the loop and remember this is just a nuisance that mustn't stop you from life. Sending you good vibes!!!
