I have read all.of the reviews for this medicine and came across one review that stated the patient was taking this medicine for carpal tunnel as well as anxiety. I suffer from both conditions, (carpal tunnel has not yet been diagnosed, so I'm self diagnosing for this question). Does this medication help with pain or just the nerves associated with carpal tunnel? My mother was prescribed it for pain associated with nerve issues in her feet and I've thought about trying it to deal with my pain. (Yes, I know I should not be self diagnosing with prescribed medications. But I'm wanting opinions before intake the medicine and go to a doctor, as I'm uninsured) Any thoughts or suggestions without judgments because of it not actually being prescribed to me yet. Thanks In advance!

It's used to treat pain and pain associated with nerve pain. It's a good med . I take it for neuropathy. I have nerve damage in my leg back hip and elbow. It works fine for me and people I know. Give it a try but with your doctors permission as always. Never self diagnose or self medicate. Good luck
I was put on neurontin for the same tingling, numbness and pain in my hands. This was my 2nd time taking this drug. And for the 2nd time, I gained a pound a day for 7 days. I quit, letting my doc know, and am now losing the weight (again!) What helped me was wearing "splints" made years ago for my arthritis. They keep my thumb extended a little bit so that my thumb and forefinger can't meet.
I. too, wondered, as did my doc, if I had carpal tunnel or gout or a small break. I don't care because these splints keep me out of pain and trouble. I can't tell you that you will react like I do to neurontin. You may not. The splints are made to fit only my hands, but I'll bet you can get ones that are less money and have an adjustable fit. I quickly have needed them for less and less hours per day.
