My doctor has prescribed Neurontin 100mg at bedtime for chronic headaches and facial pain; she is not sure if the pain I am suffering is because of my fibromyalgia but she thought this medicine would be worth trying. I am very sensitive to medicines and I'm afraid to try it. I take 75 mg of Effexor in the morning, but my doctor said the two meds won't bother each other. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
I've taken 150 of effexor and 1800 of gabapentin for 10 yrs without problems.
Best to tell your Dr you are questioning his recommendation rather than seek solace from strangers. You relationship with your Dr is top priority, maybe if there's doubt there it's time for a Dr change.
I've been on neurontin for 3 years now for PTSD. I am allergic to most meds as well and I was scared to take it but I did and it saved my life. I'm currently on 3200 mgs throughout the day. Its a life saving medication.
