We have a minature pincher that has a really bad infection in his eye. But unfortunately the Vet didnt tell us how to apply the medication. Do we rub it around his eye to where it doesnt touch his eye?
Apply topically to the eyelid and inner eye, and then gently massage while the eyelid is held shut, to disperse ointment.
Hi, Knight! Use your forefinger to gently pull the lower eyelid towards his jaw then apply a thin ribbon in the pocket ~ taking care not to touch the applicator itself to the surface of his eye. Then close the eye as masso described and gently massage.
Depending on your dog's temperament and because this may seem strange to him it would be good to have someone hold his head steady while you medicate him.
Best wishes, WildcatVet
