I have been reading this site and thought what the heck. I have been using opioids for 2 years and have been through a suboxone program. Unfortunately I can no longer afford to pay for the suboxone anymore and have not taken anything for 3 days. I feel terrible and dont know how much more I can take. Any suggestions?
Need help to stay sober after opioid detox and suboxone use?

I am scared and feel that I am going to begin using again just to take the depression away. I have come so far and really just want to be normal again. I know if I use even just once for tonight I will have to start over again. I am going to go take a walk for now.
That's a tough one, I just answered a similar question someone else asked, if the situation is that bad try a methadone clinic, contact charities in your area (some help with prescription copays), contact the manufacturer to see if they offer financial aid (some do when you can't afford their med), go to the ER and see what they come up with, although they don't consider opiate withdrawal a medical emergency, there are detox meds such as librium/clonidine but those cost money and require an MD to write the scrip. Sorry I can't help much on this but at least there's a few suggestions to get you started. Naltrexone for the cravings would also help quite a bit but also costs money... My best advice is to head to an NA meeting and see what develops. Hang in there, you are not alone. Colin Zimmermann
