Im taking Zofran which helps to some degree.
Can you give more information than you have nausea? What kind of diet do you eat? Do you have stomach pain? Do you have gastric reflux? How long has this been going on? Is there any element of your life that changed when the nausea started (it can be as easy as painters started painting in your community)? Have you ever had a concussion or head injury? Many times, nausea comes from an inner ear imbalance, so you would need to be seen by an ear/nose/throat specialist. If you close your eyes and tilt your head back, how is your balance? Have you seen only a general practitioner, to get the Zofran, or have you seen a gastroenterologist? Some clues like this will help us help you.
Meggie raised some necessary questions.
We won't diagnose but we can help guide you. We can also help you decide if it's an ER now type of thing.
I'm curious about what the doctor told you when he wrote for the Zofran. Zofran is a strong and a good med. it's usually not given for nausea alone withought a diagnosis. It's also quite expensive. They usually start with compazine.
Did you have the flu?
Symptoms are important! It's the body's way of letting us know something is wrong.
Without knowing you except for nausea, I'm trying to see how your doctor got from point A to Point B. Were there any tests ordered ?
Could you be pregnant ?
I've only been prescribed Zofran twice.
Once for vomiting from chemotherapy and from vomiting from a bowel obstruction.
I just wanted to give you an idea where Zofran stands on the list of anti-emetics.
Did I say it's really expensive too? Lol
I have been experiencing nausea for about a year now. Finally, I got a prescription for Zolfran and it seems to be helping a lot. I also found out that I have an allergy to cows milk and almonds. Guess I need to research this allergy. I am in my 70's, but I guess one can develop an allergy at any age. Before I started on the medication, I used ginger ale and pretzels. Hope this helps you.
