im having surgery and im suppose to stop taking asprin a week before

Naproxen is also an NSAID.
Naproxen must be stopped at least a few days before any type of surgery.
Aspirin / NSAID therapy is generally halted prior to surgery, to prevent profuse bleeding.

While naproxen is not a form of aspirin, both drugs can effect bleeding times. Naproxen and other NSAIDS are usually recommended to be discontinued for a time before surgery to prevent too much bleeding during the procedure.
