To come through, I have Back Surgery x3 and also gave PTSD, I'm BI Polar, And have ADHD, and have been tested for all by the State of Tn. Psychatrist before I got my SSI. But, I cannot find a Psychatrist who, can write me for my Addy and My Valium since I lost my previous Psych bc, he moved. Can ANYONE recommend an Internal Medecine Dr. Or Psych in the Manchester, Tn or Murfreesboro, Tn area who can take me on as a new patient. I desperately need my meds back and have been on them for years Thanks Lynn G.
Thank you for your service to our country!
I suffer from PTSD but I am not a Vet. I do know how important it is to keep the right meds onboard so that your symptoms do not escalate. Do they not have services through the VA that would connect you with a Psych doctor while you are waiting for your service connections to come through? There are other web sites just for PTSD Vets on the internet, maybe you could post there. Can you go to a nearby hospital emergency room to see if they would give you some meds to get you through? Maybe take your prescription bottles with you to show them? They may be able to refer you to a Psych or Internal med doc. I am sorry that I am not much help :( I hope other members that are vets post to you soon. My thoughts and prayers with you.
Hey Lynn, Glad to know you are reaching out, from my last 5 years of being married to a Vietnam vet, we have now been apart for a year and a half, he is supposed to be living near Cooksville and from dealing with the drs. in nc & SC they are more positive, and attentive, than the ones in tenn. I also have my father in the VA system, a very good neurologists found that he had had a stroke from most likely a bad fall to his head around 8 months prior.
I just want you to know that not all va systems are poor at getting you to the right doctor. Thank You Very Much For Your Service !!!
