Is there any way for me to get a discount on the cost of my Ambien prescription if my insurance only covers generic.
YES, there are online coupons available like Mama said - questionable however. The manufacturer of Ambien may offer a drug assistance program.
I, however, sleepwalked on Ambien and broke my wrist, so I switched to another fast acting hypnotic like Ambien - SONATA 10 MG. WITHOUT the undesirable side effects AND WITH THE GOOD instant sleep.
FORGET AMBIEN - GET Sonata and get your doctor to get an override for it if it isn't approved first time. Make it your doctor's problem to get the override, and then it will work in most cases, but don't take Ambien - it is crap as is Halcion.
All the best,
If there is a good medical reason that only the brand name works for you, call your insurance company and ask to apply for an exception. They will most likely need documentation from your Dr as to why you can only have the brand name then they should cover it for you. Most people have no idea that they can apply for exceptions in these cases.
