I also had a thymectomy in 1992. My symptoms have never gone completely away, but have been manageable since the surgery, then a plasmapherisis and the common treatment with Mestinon and Prednisone. Lately, I have experienced an increase in the symptoms, so yes, it is possible for the symptoms to re-appear.
You should get back to your physician right away, before they increase even more.
