Its dilaudid...I don't know what this is and have never taken this and I'm scared the my PM doctor is going to drop me and I've never in my 41yrs taken this medication.please help? Thanks
I can't help much because I know next to nothing about how drug tests work. But Dilaudid is the drug Hydromorphone, and it's more closely related to Morphine than Oxycodone is, which is the opiate in Percocet. All I can think of is that these urine tests are done in a very cheap and inexpensive manner, and the one with the erroneous reading made an error. If I was you I'd go out and buy 1 or 2 home drug test kits and see what you get for a reading. Make sure you buy the one that tests for opiates. I think you should also tell all this to a few pharmacists and see what they say. I mean lets face it. If you really didn't take that drug then the test gave them a false positive reading. They should have redone the test immediately because I don't think these drugs stay in the urine very long. Another idea may be to ask that they test your blood for this drug. I think blood drug tests are much more accurate and reliable than urine tests are.
I'm sorry this happened to you, but with all the other errors being made in the medical field I'm almost surprised you're the first to have had something like this happen on dc here.
You should also demand to know who the makers are of the test that was used. You should then contact the company and tell them their test gave a false positive for Dilaudid when you did not take any Dilaudid. I'd add that you didn't even take Morphine, but only Oxycodone. This is potentially very serious if the test if being manufactured improperly and is giving false positive readings. When you do all this, remain calm, cool, and collected. If you get angry or become excited they will assume you are lying and that you're angry because you were caught. And if you're in a position to afford one, I'd even consult a lawyer. I mean if your PM doc is going to drop you because of this, that's very bad. It can also become part of your permanent medical records. I don't think our medial records have all been put into one big data base just yet, but that's coming, very soon. When that happens any future doc we go to will be able to see anything and everything we have done in the past. I know some people say this isn't going to happen, but I believe it will.
Good Luck, and let us know what happens.
