and her mother has not taken her script to the jail. Will she be in bad withdrawal if the mother never takes her medicine - when would the worst of it be and about when would it end if she never gets that midicine for a month? Thanks. Kathy
Your son's friend will be going through really bad withdrawal at such a strong dose of Suboxone - not good at all. I don't know how much influence you have with the mother, but please implore her to take her daughter her medication. I'm not sure what prison does with people on medication such as this? I would advise your son to tell his friend to tell the staff where she is locked up loud and clear that she needs medical help! Withdrawal can be very serious. I'm not sure how long withdrawal lasts - hopefully someone else will come along and help you further. You are right to be concerned about this young woman - she needs any help you can give her right now.
Hi htwooh (Kathy)
I am so sorry about your son's friend! I must agree with EJ on this, please oh please implore the mum to take this girl her Subs!!!
It all depends on what she was addicted to, Hydro's versus H, and how long she was on them I suppose, yet on Subs I could very well be wrong about that. Not a Sub expert like EJ or Pattishan61... oh maybe patti will see your question and answer it, perhaps I will text her later to let her know what is going on, would you like me to do that Kathy? She really knows her stuff!
This poor girl could really be quite ill while in the slammer. I am sure you know what withdrawal symptoms include. If not just ask.
Thinking of you and your son and his friend!!
Have to agree with everyone, she will go into withdrawal approximately 3 days give or take from her last dose of Suboxone. Withdrawals could last as much as a couple of weeks and should not be endured if at all possible. The mother needs to supply the medication or have the prescribing doctor notify the authorities as already suggested.
Get her help if you possibly can,
Most jails have their own doctors or nurse that will evaluate the situation., You are never allowed to take any type of prescription into a jail even if the jailer hands them out. It is not done period. I feel for this person, but they should have thought of this before getting arressted. If this person becomes too sick they will take her to an emergency room to be evaluated, & may be released to a hospitals care if they have an inpatient program for drug offenders. Am so sorry to tell you this...
