He ended up in a wheelchair and was very sick for 8 months he recovered, but no doctor could find what caused it.His symptoms began the night after his surgery.
sounds to me like something went wrong with surgery!and of course they don't know cause they aren't going to say the surgery caused it !because they are afraid you will sue them!
i know because something went wrong during my back surgery and i ended up having to have 2 more back surgeries because of this!and i didn't sue my doctor because he admitted to us that he nipped the sack around my spine!
hoping all goes well for your son!
God bless & good luck
Sounds like something was "hit" with a scalpel or cauterizing instrument. They must have either hit a nerve, and "cut" that goes to the legs, or they messed up his lymphatic system going to the legs. Many women who have mastectomies, end up with a condition caused by the surgery called lymphodemia. This sounds very similar. The lymph nodes that they take out to check for how far the cancer has gone, can cause severe swelling and pain in the arm and hand for a long time afterwards. In your son's case, it seems that he had to wait for a new nerve to reach the site, or lymph nodes to grow back to take care of the swelling. This is a very long process. Either way, I'm so glad that he is ok now. What a relief for you and him!
