soma worked awesome for my injury of coarse along with one of my pain meds (taking it alone, makes me sleepy) i've yet to get it filled. scared it won't work as well. any suggestions? please
Orphenadrine (Norflex) is a muscle relaxant just as soma is. The only difference maybe the fact that the orphenadrine is continuous release so you don't have to take as often. I wouldn't be scared. Your doctor had a reason to switch you, in fact the orphenadrine my work just as well and may allow you to use less pain med. Give it a try and let the doctor know how it goes.
A lot of Drs are taking their patients off Soma. Soma can be very addictive and is for short term use. There are rumors that it will be taken off the market soon. I have been reading this for quite some time but it hasnt come to fruition yet. It is very similar, in fact it breaks down into a medication called meprobamate or brand name Miltown which was removed from the market some time ago because of the propensity for addiction with the drug. There are too many other muscle relaxants that work well that are not so addictive. Norflex is a good one and it wont make you feel sleepy.
My doctor had me on Orphenadrine for my migraines and it worked better then anything I have ever used. Now my drug store said it was taken off the market and I can't get it anymore. The next med the doctor put me on doesn't work as good and I have to take it several times when I get a migraine. The orphenadrine I would take two and it have to take it again. Is this true that you can't get it anymore? Looking on the internet it shows it's still out there. Even Krogers where I used to get it shows they have it. The doctors office said they had several people that was on this and was told the same from Kroger and he was having to adjust what to use. Can you please help me with this, I would rather take two pills that work then six in one day and it still doesn't keep the headache away. Please help, I hate taking meds but a miagraine will put me in bed throwing up, etc. thank you, signed Michele
