severe allergic reaction to Chemotherapy (after only 1 treatment). After seeing the side effect of this drug can halter hair growth, she's wondering if she takes another cancer drug will her hair return quicker.
hi i had hodgkins lymphoma, dont often share this 30yrs old now, had rasdiation to the back of neck , underarms plus other areas but not relevant, i relapsed 3 months later, the hair had grown back, i also had all kinds of meds, then i had major surgery and 9+ months of chemo were i lost all hair it all grew back except my underarms and its a little lighter at the back at my neck were the radiation killed the cells. so basically the meds your mum is taking is tio kill her body so the cancer dies but the doctors are clever enough to help her stay alive while the cancer dies, all cells suffer includinfg hair. if its her first time with cancer it usually grows back stronger than before.only certain drugs make the hair go but this tells u its killing cells (cancer cells) then they put you on other chemo drugs to stop the celluler cycle from repeating the old mutation thats why it takes so bloody long. im 10 years cancer free and smoke cigs again(yes mentally ill no doubt) were beanie or bandanna and get some of these cool purple round glasses , help her change her image ,identity for a while qas you feel as though you loose it in cancer thats why you want the hair and if u think im a guy and dont no, im 6ft had hair cirly to my shouylders with this golden blond shine and it was a rock star image for what made up for me being some what slim and un mucho. Go to the cancer support for women they have so much more than men and if you say you have lost your hair they will treat you like a princess again. Enjoy this part it wont last for ever, its a holiday from the business from life, and maybe your body and mind of your mother needs a rest and some people to take carew of her for a while, she is lucky to have you, wish i had someone to go through cancer with even though i told people the opposite. best wishes richard
