She has a metal plate in her neck which causes extreme paid everyday of her life at every moment. She recently had two ruptured discs in her back. So, on top of the hydro-codeine 10mg (2 pill 4 X daily), they gave her these extremely small little pills that were told to us by the hospital staff to be the same as Demerol, and much stronger that the hydro's--- and she cannot take Percocet's b/c she gets migraines, which only contribute to the neck pain. I don't know what to do or tell her what to do... she is a young woman and as her daughter, I can't take watching her in this much pain if there is a solution out there. Can anyone help me?
I would think this is going to be a chronic pain problem until your mom passes some day. So I would suggest that if Dilaudid isn't working then fentanyl patches would be the way to go. Has your Mom been to a pain clinic?? If not then I highly suggest she go as it may be the only way for her to get such strong meds... Good luck..Dave
