... lortab,10 4 times a day, xnax the blue ones 2 times a day, ambion 10 mg 1 time a day, feytenal pain patch 100 mi gram every 3 days, proxies 2 times a day her doctor has her on all of this because he said her disc in her back were crumbling. but is all this necessary for that I mean now she is a addict and cant even get off the couch and its not because of the pain its the pills she says she will have a heart attack with out them so does she really need to be on all that or is that doctor crazy? she also abuses them so what should I do she says she wants help to stop but she doesn't have the money for rehab and is scared to go please help... (please excuse some of my spelling on the med's)
Her doctor is over doing it a bit. I shattered my mid spine, need additional surgery for a "crumbling" disc, to fix the hardware, and take only 3 meds. One er opiate and 1 ir opiate. Total mgs on the extended release is 180mg per day and the Instant release total is 50mg per day. Valium 10mg as needed for spasms. Her doc needs to re-evaluate her condition and the anount of meds she's on. Good luck to you. She needs help and her doctor is not giving her the real help she needs. Stay strong for your mom.
My best wishes,
She is obviously addicted and really needs to be in a rehab. The benzodiazapine (Valium) addiction is actually one of two addictions that can kill you from withdrawals, the other is alcoholism.
She is going to be on opiates the rest of her life but she is on a bunch of crap that will eventually kill her.
I would suggest methadone in this case as it is very safe when used properly. Also you don't get high off it especially when the addict is seasoned and a high daily abuser. She would not need the patch or the weak hydrocodone which is garbage especially in a chronic pain condition.
The Valium would not be needed as the methadone would kill the pain or most of it and she could you trazadone for sleep. Trazadone is non-addictive but is very successful as a sleep aide.
If she doesn't stop abusing all this shit then she is headed for a early grave and that's just not acceptable especially when there are other options. Good luck... Dave
