... detoxed at home cold turkey and it took 3 weeks. She is never to take again and is on pheno for the rest of her life. Recently she was in the hospital and they gave her only four doses of lortab for pain and only 4 doses of xanax for anxiety. We all stupidly thought such small amount would not hurt. three days after the last does she is in full-blown withdrawl just like 15 yrs ago. It is day 9 and it's no better. Does anyone have a suggestion? She is so miserable. How could this happen with such a small dose?
Hello 5catsam. I understand, fully from where you're coming from. And I apologize that well, I'm late in an answer to you. I wasn't on line for several days, and only now saw your question. Fair to say its how addictive it can be for your mother. I know all about xanax. Been there, done it. The detox also. Theres little than I might say to ease and or help change the situation. If I may, I know that in reference to the Benzodiazepines, they are off limits for me. Give me just a valiumn, or two, and I'd be hooked in a jiffy. In no time. Much the same might be said for xanax. I do understand your frustration, in as, you said, it is truly a small amount. But its not the quantity. There is no fault here. Not all. Its just as it is. I have several friends who continue to smoke, cigarettes, and they both are close to catching there last breath. Its literally killing them, but they still smoke. Why? Some of us can stop whatever it may be, and never one time look back. Others, always looking back. Why? I don't know. Well, by the time you read this, if you do, hopefully she will be having a much better time of it. I sincerely wish you 5catsam and your family the very best.
