I have heard seroquel XR is a different drug to normal seroquel and that it causes really bad side effects.Should I go on it?
Seroquel XR is a prescription medication that is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. When combined with an antidepressant, it is also approved for treating depression. It is a long-acting, extended-release medication that is taken just once a day.
The extended - release pill is to provide your system from time to time the medication required for your ailment. I guess the side effects would be the same in both case of Seroquel.
I f you think its too bothersome, then try & seek a 2nd opinion, take care.
Hello scarletpimperquell. Seroquel is generally a well tolerated drug. The side effects be they from the regular or XR are much the same. However weight gain is the number one issue in taking Seroquel. It will be several weeks before you might begin to feel the theraputic effects of the drug. It can often take up to a months time for that to happen. Hopefully, you'll find it a drug that works well for you. Best of wishes, pledge
