Klonopin to help with the symptoms. He was on methadone for 10yrs, and was kicked out for financial reasons. The meth clinic lied to the rehab about his dose to get him off their hands. They told the rehab that he was at 22mgs when he was actually at 70mgs. He told the rehab the truth when he got there, but they gave him an unknown amount of Subutex anyway, sending him immediately into precipitated w/d. When he started freaking out, he got into an argument with a nurse, and was promptly booted into the snow. The meth clinic will not accept him back now and he really doesn't want to use. At our disposal are, kpin, perc, and vic. What should we do??? I'm scared I will lose him after 8 years of marriage and two children. Help!
I am so very sorry that your husband was treated so badly by medical staff.
Is there any way you can find a Suboxone doc in your area? This will prevent him from the helll of withdrawal. If you google Sub docs you may have to enter your zip code to get a list of them in your area.
In the meantime google The Thomas Recipe for opiate withdrawal, it will provide you with a list of OTC and rx meds he will need right now.
IF you plan on getting him on Subs do not let the man take any opiates for now. He will need to be in withdrawal before he is inducted.
Best wishes to you and hubby, please post again to let us know how he is doing,
I would try to find another Methadone clinic in the area... If he is a vet. try the VA clinic... you could send him to Floridadetox.com. Check out their website... it is a rapid detox and a well known Dr... NFL players use this... they do have loans for people that are having financial problems... Call United Way 'First Call for Help' ... ask them if your state has a chemical dependency screening program to help ... most states pay for Methadone treatment if you are unable to pay. My husband is on 180 mil a day for sixteen years and he is connected to it like a ball and chain... it has made our lives extremely difficult... If your husband could get off it do whatever you can. We have two boys now 16 and 21 and they have also suffered dearly... my husband mismanages his methadone and usually ends up buying it off the streets from other people he has met at the clinic. Pray for God to help you and he will... it may not be when you want it ... but he is with you and he will help you if you surrender to him... I have seen many miracles, God has kept my husband alive through so many overdoses and withdrawals I have lost count... It has been 16 years and I know God is with us and we are still working out our testimony and all the glory will go to God.. I am a child of God and I will not let the enemy overcome... My family will not be defeated. Pray... There is a great book by James MacDonald..of Walk in the Word called "Always True" about Gods promises... He will never leave us or forsake us and if we follow him he is Always victorious.God bless you and your Family.
