... May. He has bad improvement but his colonoscopy showed that his colon is still very inflamed. He will double his remicade dosage soon. Has anyone had this experience? Can the doubling of the remicade bring significant improvement?
My husband had severe UC and had a double dose of Remicaide after the single dose did nothing, and the double dose just made him very sick - no improvement. Rather than live with this chronic debilitating illness, he ended up having colectomy surgery and he is doing well - his quality of life has greatly improved. In my opinion Remicaide is a nasty drug with lots of bad side effects and while it may help in cases of mild to moderate UC, it cannot "cure" a severely diseased colon.
The reason I went on this site is he now has a very bad rash and he never had any prior skin problems. I heard that taking Remicaide may cause a long lasting rash. Since he had not taken the drug for more than 2 months I am not sure if his rash is causally related.
My husband has been on Remicade for several months. His last dose was in May- it was a higher dose than the previous doses. About five days after the treatment he started losing strength in his hands and arms. We feel that it is due to the Remicade. According to all the reading that we've done on it, it seems very likely that this is the cause. We are praying that the strength will return.
Have you ever tried acupuncture? It is said to be helpful with IBS diseases.
My GI.started me on low dosage after 1 year it wasnt working well.now I'm higher disage last few months its working fine now.But my question is after a year will this stop.Where can you go after the highest didage which is 10 mgs? Also every 8 weeks last colonoscopy showed improvement in colon.
