If your husband gave this medication a chance, it does work. I also take 400mg 3 times a day, for spinal stenosis. I have had 3 back surgeries and have some nerve damage in the legs. It works great for this condition as well.
Neurontin will help if you take it everday and a few times a day. What is better is Neurontin in combination with a tri-cyclic antidepressant such as Amitryptaline (spelling). And then maybe a low dose muscle relaxer. I have Type II diabetes and diabetic neuropathy and with these drugs in combo he will get relief, but he has to take them as prescribed. Make a new doctor appointment and discuss those medications all working together :)
I took it for nerve pain which I had for over ten years if that doen't help there is lyrica or a vitamin which is alpha lipoic acid 200 mg, tis was also helpful, especially many people cant take those other meds because of side effects, this ala has none and it helped get rid of the pain it takes a few days to work. good luck
yes i have multiple scelrosis plus i have nerve pain in my hands and feet neuropathy similar to diabetic pain i take 300 mg tab three times a day . your answer for your question is yes they help me alot.some people react diffrent to some meds diffrent then others but its worth the try..
