Shes on Tri Sprintec and took her first pill and she completed her first pack of 28 this saturday. she started her very 2nd pack yesterday 9/4. We had unprotected sex 9/3 and today 9/5. she had her period due to the BC and it ended 9/4. Is she pregnant or should i get her the morning after pill. She has taken all of her pills and only missed one pill which was the sugar pill and she took 2 at once as instructed. Should i be worried? Or am i likely to be okay. Please answer so i can get the morning after pill if necessary.
She should be protected as long as she took all the active pills each day without missing. You dont need to get the morning after pill-this will just screw up her cycle-she is protected. Missing an inert pill is no big deal. You really dont even need to take them so she didnt really even need to make up the one she missed but that is only on the inert or sugar pills. If she had missed an ACTIVE pill, she should take it as soon as she remembers and use a back up for 7-14 days. The inert or sugar pills are just designed to get you used to taking a pill each day. Even though the pills are inert, she is still protected from pregnancy by the active pills she took earlier in the month. Most manufacturers agree that after a full seven days of active pills, a woman is protected from pregnancy. At the clinic where I worked we preferred our women to take a full pack before they had sex without protection just to be absolutely sure. So no worries, as long as everything is as you say then she was protected and should be just fine!
