... one when the pain would start (every 3-4 hours).. She then decided to give me norco 10/325. I took those for a few days but didn't like them because they gave me the "messed up" feeling, and I don't like that. So went back to lortab 5/500.. Now I am taking 2 in the morning and it helps longer through the day, so I don't have to take as many. So this morning I took one of the Norcos, thinking it would keep the pain away longer.. It did but now it's time to take a half of a lortab. My question is, after all that, is it safe to take norco and lortab in the same day? Pills really scare me so I want to be as careful as possible! Thanks so much!!
The Lortab and the Norco are the same medicines just different strengths. The Lortab 5/500 is 5mg hydrocodone and 500 mgs acetominophen while the norco is 10mg hydrocodone and 325 mgs acetominophen. So the norco is stronger than the lortab in regards to the hydrocodone, the opiate pain killer. You can take the lortab and the norco in the same day. The maximum acetominophen to take in 24 hours is 4000mgs.
If you have further question please don't hesitate to ask.
The first number is your drug amount & the second number is your tylenol amount. The problem with your lortab is too much tylenol. I was under the assumption that the FDA had made it to where only 325mg of tylenol could now be prescribed no matter the narcotic dose. Just be careful combining the two. I'm sure your doctor whom should have the last word on this doesn't know you are combining the two. Just some thoughts...
