This is my 1st visist to this site. I can't afford the time to switch a bunch of meds. Trying to get job and need to be clear headed. If anyone has positive or negative comments, please don't hesitate. Thank You
Lexapro for me made me less depressed and less anxious, however, made me very very tired all the time! I found that Pristiq worked much better, but that was my experience. If you don't respond well to Lexapro, a SSRI type drug, I'd try an SNRI type drug next vs. another SSRI as they all have the same basic effect. It's a shame that you don't have the time to make sure that the med that your put on is the right one for you, cause antidepressants really should be thought of as keys. Everyone reacts differently to all of these different meds, and finding the right one for you is very similar to finding the correct key to a door. Many of them won't work, but with trial and error, you'll find the perfect one without any adverse side effects, or at least side effects that you don't mind.
Good luck, and hope that everything works out for you!
yes i think jeff is right.Everyone reacts differently to meds, what suits one person might not suit another. I know you dont want to hear this but you need to be patient when it comes to starting off on these meds.It may take a number of adjustments for you to find the right medication that is right for you and your condition.I have been on lexapro myself and it worked at the start but then had to switch cause it didnt do anything for me after a while. We all want to be clear headed and find something asap but it takes time.I wish you the best of luck with it.Let us know how you're getting on.
most likely most of the comments you get will be different, what works for one person may cause problems for another person, I was on Lexapro and xanax I found that the Lexapro worked a little faster than some of the others but I had fatigue, I don't know whether it was from the medication or the combination of that and depression. A good way to find out is try it, when trying a new medication such as Lexapro she has a patient use 1/2 tablet daily for 1 week then after that if there are no problems then she increases it to a full dose, But that's from my personal doctor, Whatever is on the bottle + what your doctor has told you is exactly what you should do, I wish you the best of luck! feel better soon,
