t before her supper meal. It definitely makes her drousy, but after the third day she began to have diarrhea. Has anyone else experienced this on that drug?
I love Librax-but the way Librax works it could cause diarrhea with a bad diet for IBS. There are several food triggers that set off diarrhea. It's not the same for everybody- milk-caffeine-fat-sugar-corn and corn products-spicey food like Mexican and Italian-carbonated products like soda pop-fruit peels like apple and plum peels-nuts-chocolate-artificial sugars are bad because of the acid from fruit peels-citric acids-alcohol-food at a hot temperature, especially if mixed with ice water or iced tea-fresh crunchy vegetables, like a green salad, broccoli, etc. and have you tried diet to help control this? Sugar is my big food trigger, then it comes to a hot meal-I let mine cool to room temp and avoid iced liquids. While not on the list-I find bread bothersome in many ways. I avoid bread-but I'm not allergic to gluten. So a doughnut is especially bad for me in several ways-cramps-gas-diarrhea, because they have 2-3 food triggers-bread, lots of sugar and perhaps are fried. Another ?, does she suffer from GERD, because if she eats things that give her indigestion-the acids go through the intestine and come out as some diarrhea-
Try Librax after eating the evening meal. It sounds like the dose is too strong, and a full stomach would help reduce this problem, if the stomach doesn't have a food trigger in it like ice cream or a glass of milk. Another way of handling it would be one Librax every other night. Librax works by relaxing the stomach, so a problem diarrhea food could become a bad problem. Some people have a stomach that works over time-which causes diarrhea. The more the GI tract moves, the more it does keep moving. Oddly enough some people have their stomach so stressed that it constricts-knots up like a cramp in a leg or foot and the victim is constipated. I'm a lucky person that cycles between both problems. Thanks to Librax, I now can have coffee, etc. Some people say that Librax causes constipation-others are like your daughter. 4 me, Librax helps with both conditions. I just finished a cup of coffee, with bacon and an egg. I spent 12 years only eating Cream of wheat, without milk or sugar for breakfast or I couldn't make it through the day.
You haven't said how old your daughter is, which would help members in giving you an answer. I imagine that your poor daughter has been doubled up in pain a whole lot-or the doctor wouldn't have prescribed Librax-talk to your doctor about food triggers. I've found that walking helps a lot-it helps work the gas out, etc. The intestine is a muscle-just like an arm or leg muscle-walking makes it stronger-where there is less constipation, but also better control of the bowel. Even if you've changed meds by now-please explore the diet connection to her IBS. It makes life simpler-more under control. I go out and eat now. I sit and talk, while my food cools down-ask that I don't have any ice in my drink- just ignore the bread-etc. It beats sitting home in a diaper.
