... weeks clean. We both take 1/4 suboxone in the morning and 1/4 at night, sometimes only once a day, but the withdrawals are terrible. I am sweating and have goosebumps all day no matter what. The suboxone is just keeping me sane & sleeping. Smoking weed helps A LOT. I really don't want to take the subs anymore, but my boyfriend is up for taking them for a year. I'm scared I'm just putting off the inevitable. I've heard about the blood pressure pills? Clonodine or something? I just don't want to take benzos or even smoke weed, but I can't seem to get through this any other way. I'm open to any and all advice.
Hi koomba, Congrats on kicking the oxy's!! That's a tough one to get off of but you can be successful. Be patient and realize you can safely quit the subs too. On the right side of the page click on "find a member." then type in "pattishan61" Click on her picture and read her suboxone taper plan and story. Next to her avatar it will say "read more." Please read this information and give her some time to reply. She is a wonderful caring member who has "been there, done that." Also "Sweetlemon" had kicked oxy's cold turkey and is also a great support member. You may want to re-title your question with the word SUBOXONE in the subject line. You may get more responses that way. Just a suggestion. In the mean time, try to be strong and read some stories in the suboxone support group. Hang in there.
first of all suboxone doesnt work the way u'd think u have to take it all at once in the morning for it to really help you it has a 36 hour 1/2 life that means 36 hour after u take it the other half of ur meds kick in so 1/4 here and 1/4 there is really screwing up ur recovery u need to take ur pills 1/2 at a time one time a day for a few weeks then try and wean down to a 1/4 pill if that doesnt help ur body isn't ready for the wean yet this is really important it took you a long time to get the help u needed for ur problem so dont try and "fix" it overnight it will take some time and willpower i know it is hard i was a herion junkie for man like 12 years and then i got pregnant and got on suboxone but i tried methodone and pain pills and what ever i could to stop the dope nothing helped but the suboxone it literly saved me and my husbands lives and the life of our little girl she's 14 months now so we've been on it for a little under 2 years. My dr.
told us that it is safe to take as a maitnence drug for the rest of our lives and concedering the alternitive... we may just stick with it. Just stay ur course and dont give up b patient with the meds and ur recovery the results will come mayb not as soon as u hope but it will happen. Good Luck!!! Lissa117
