I think music in general really helps with depression.I personal suffer from ADHD /Depression /Substance abuse (self medicating the former). And listening to artist who also suffer from the same. You realize your not alone and songs may sum up feeling that you feel also. (but may not be able to express verbally). I'm 54 years old and at 48 listen to a song that summed everything I felt but couldn't express /explain my entire life. (Vinnie Paz - "Is Happiness Just A Word"). It was life changing. (Underground artist keep it real and don't have to bow down to Major Record Labels). Music has saved my life. Have your husband check out this artist. "Madchild". Hope I was of some help. I think you will also see these "underground" are all sorta inter-twined and support each other and the culture. so I support them buy buying albums ..whats a couple of dollars ..one song save my life.
