I work in a Specialty Pharmacy and just did a project last week regarding MS and the drugs used to treat the symptoms. Tysabri, I've seen is rarely prescriptioned, against Copaxone and Avonex. In my research I found out that it increases the risk of PML (Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy) and should be used in patients who aren't responding to alternate therapy. Is there a specific reason your doctor is suggesting an infusion?
