I have medical conditions that require medicine on regular basis. I have chronic Pancreatist, chronic back pain, fibromyalgia,Arthritis,(OCD,anxiety, depression, which been told could come from Adhd) And I do not know any doctors in this area. "Gloucester, York County, Newport news, In state of Virginia" Is their anyone that may know of any? Somewhere I could at least start. I hate going to Dr's anyway But no questions I have no choice. It would be so appreciated to have some that someone may know that could help me w/my types of medical conditions .. Thanks!!
I just moved to this area and need some help?

hi crscott4, the best thing you could is get a copy of your medical records from your old doctors. then get copies of your pharmacy records most will give you 2years back.if it was a chain pharmacy it will be very easy and free. your doctor should forward them to a new doctors office. but always keep copies for yourself. then find a PCP, primary care physician. he or she should get you started at your first appointment. make sure you give your old doc a heads up and make an appointment when they are both in their offices. and bring any old prescription bottles you may have.good luck with the new place ... subzero58
If you are looking for a pain Dr to manage chronic pain issues you can find Dr finders on many of the pain webites like National Pain Foundation, American Pain Society, American Chronic Pain Association, Partners Against Pain are a few. Not all of these sites have a doc finder but I'm sure at least a couple of them do. You just enter the area and it will give you listings of Drs. Ask your neighbors and co-workers for referrals to good Drs in the area. You dont have to ask about pain Drs but if you ask about a good primary care doctor then he, in turn, can refer you to pain management. You can also go into the Yellow Pages and call to different Drs offices to ask if they have experience in treating the conditions that you are dealing with. As the previous poster mentioned, you should have all of your records from your previous Drs and your pharmacy records as well to show that you were on medications that worked for you. Finding a new Dr is never an easy task. Good Luck!
