I am a depressed person.Have been under treatment for the past 6 years.I am a shy person and have been shy throughout my childhood. As I grew up,I got more depressed and anxiety was a big problem.Today,I feel very good, not depressed anymore. The main problem I have now is I don't have motivation to do anything new .No goal in life, nothing to follow.Right now I am on Desvenlafaxine and clomipramine. Before doctor had prescribed Bupropion, but because of its side effects,I stopped as told by doctor.I don't have any motivation to move on in life. Can anyone please help me with advice...
I too am taking desvenlafaxine and I also take bupropion. I must say the right medications are critical to treating our disorder, but sometimes they are not enough. I participate in talk therapy several times a month. I have found extremely helpful in that it helps motivate me especially when I don't feel like it. I had to force myself some to develop new interests and hobbies. I do alot of volunteer work as well. It really helps me stay motivated and focused while helping others. I am a spokesperson for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a non profit organization that promotes wellness and removal of the stigma associated with mental illness. It has been a wonderful opportunity to overcome my anxiety and boost my self esteem. Just some thoughts.
