Nausea can be a side effect unfortunately. When she started on it her insulin dose was probably decreased and it should be increased again now that she's at the desired dose of insulin. Her dr should be aware that her blood sugar is not responding the way it should, he may want to make dose changes in both the insulin and the symlin.
